The day started badly for us heading, in the 71 GT, for Birk Brow to meet other menbers of the Tees Vally MG Owners Club for the annual Fish & Chip run to Whitby. We were a bit later away than we wanted to be and the traffic was worse than expected with the result that we arrived at Birk Brow seven minutes late to find everybody had been waiting for us in the freezing wind. Thanks guys and gals, we appreciate it!!
Not only were we late but the minicam decided it didn't want to work so we had to use the backup. This is new to us and we didn't have a mount worked out but we managed to fix it to the dashboard. It shows the date & time and there's no way to get rid of it, which is what you get when you buy a cheap Chinese knock off. Apart from that it's a pretty good bit of kit for eight quid.

As soon as we arrived at Birk Brow all the frozen souls jumped into their cars to set off for Whitby so we didn't even get out of ours. Because we didn't have a designated parking place, it was grab a spot when you could and the group ended up split into mini groups.
Our little group found a great chippy and tucked in to fish, chips, mushy peas, bread & butter, and tea & coffee at reasonable prices.
Suitably refreshed, we went for a wander around this lovely town.

As the sun sank in the sky, the already chilly temperatures started to drop, so we decided to head for home. Thankfully the GT has a decent heater so it didn't take long for us to warm up.
