A friend of mine dropped in for a visit on Friday while I was putting the distributor cap back on after cleaning it following a leak from the heater valve on the 71 GT. I started the car to check that I has things back together right and he noticed that it was misfiring at idle. This was quickly identified as No.2 pot not doing much at all.
Saturday morning saw the head come off and the afternoon was spent recutting the valves and seats. Today was lap the valves in time and reassembly. It's all back together and running well but I need a new throttle cable as the old one was too frayed to get back through the hole in the heat shield.
I've ordered some new air filters as I want to use the existing ones for the TA, so I've still got a bit to do under the bonnet.
I'm not a tall bloke but the height of things under the B's bonnet is just that little bit low and I'm suffering for it.
