It was a good drive up to Eastgate in the MG3 and on arrival we were directed to our test where we signed on and set ourselves up for the coming action. It was a simple part of the test for us to observe so I managed to get some video.
Each car had two runs at the test before a short lunch break where a free butty was there for us.
Back at the test there was a further run before the format was changed slightly and the competitors had two goes at that. Not everybody made it as far as this, I think there were six retirements by this point.
The day started off bright and sunny and quite warm but by early afternoon the temperature dropped and the rain came. Things still progressed well and about 4pm it was all over and we headed for the chuck wagon where a welcome hot meal of steak pie, chips, mushy peas and gravy awaited. This club certainly looks after the marshals.
Once fed it was time to head for home. It was an easy run back despite the demister struggling to keep the windows clear. We did have a lot of wet gear in the car creating a bit of a Turkish bath atmosphere.
