We only had an afternoon section on this event so we had a relaxing morning and a good brunch to keep us going through the afternoon.
To give ourselves plenty of time we set off early but traffic was not cooperating and I had to press on a bit on the A66. I hope that camera van was number plate recognition and not a speed camera. I can but wait for the letter to drop through the letterbox.
We arrived at our section with just enough time to get our dirty gear on and get the early competitors under way. Section 13, Sunniside was a fairly gentle, not so muddy hill with a sharp bend at the top followed by a very short steep climb. Most competitors did well on it. A couple of bike riders fell off, thankfully without injury and a couple of cars had trouble turning round at the top.
I was manning the restart and Pam was at the top. I had the benefit of a luxuriously appointed marshalls post.

The sun was out, but not where we were. It was a pleasant day though.
Some super cars taking part and for me the undoubted star of the show was this great MG J2.
No trouble at the restart apart from one (not on video) who didn't stop at all.
In between competitors I explored some of the functions of the new camera. I'm impressed with the macro feature.
With the last competitor through it was time to close the section and pack up for the trip home. The drive out of the forest was a challenge as there were no signboards. We got lost and ended up at a locked gate. This meant reversing about half a mile to find somewhere to turn round.
Once out of the forest we stopped for a cuppa with friends before crossing the A66 once again.
I think this is the first time we've spent more time travelling than marshalling but that doesn't matter. We arrived home with a very dirty car which will be going to the car wash tomorrow.
