We decided to put some more miles on Numbum. As I wasn't sure how much fuel I had, the first stop was the filling station. From there it was only a short drive to the 100 year old Transporter Bridge. Unfortunately, it wasn't operating, possibly because of the strong breeze, but there was no reason given. We had to make do with a photo of the visit.
The young lad seen on the left wanted to know if we'd sell the car and for how much!!
Instead of a few minutes ride on the transporter, we had to retrace our steps and cross the Tees at Newport Bridge and took a steady drive to Redcar where an ice cream was the order of the day. Out in the bay was some sort of crane platform. Unusual to see as it's mostly ships waiting to get into Tees Dock.

From there it was a short trip to the other side of Redcar where we stopped for a breezy stroll on the almost deserted beach.
Before we set off for this run, I'd fitted some (new to me) mirrors which I think look quite good, even if not original. Numbum doesn't know what original is so no real problem there. They are much better than what I had originally. I can actually see what's behind me now.
The original passenger side mirror was as much use as a chocolate teapot to me, although Pam could use it. It was in the way of the 'new'one so it got relocated to the top of the windsreen. Pam can play at Spitfire pilots now.
From there we headed inland and wended our way home via Marske, Guisbrough, Great Ayton & Stokelsley making the days run just short of 60 miles.
