Thanks to my good friend Donald we found out about this run on Saturday when he told us he'd reserved two places for us should we wish to go. Of course we wished to go!
We thought the day was doomed before it started as the 71 MGB GT fired up with a misfire at low revs. It cleared as the revs increased so we decided to go anyway and see how it went.
With the car pointed in a south easterly direction the misfire cleared and we arrived at the start at the Black Bull at Harrogate where we met a friendly crowd, from The Ilkley and District Motor Club. We paid our (very reasonable) entry fee and had a coffee (included in the fees) before setting off.
A mixed group of just shy of 30 cars enjoyed a pleasant jaunt through the country lanes and villages of North Yorkshire to end up back at the Black Bull after covering 83 miles if they got it right, more if they didn't. I won't say how many miles we covered.
The weather stayed reasonable. It did try to rain a couple of times but didn't quite make a full downpour.

The Dino owner had driven two & a half hours to get to the start. While at a local filling station he fell into conversation with a man walking his dog. That conversation led to the dog walker getting an afternoon in a Dino as navigator. How cool is that? Maybe I shoud get a dog and start hanging round filling stations.
We had the video running most of the day and I trimmed it to show the lovely lanes we travelled. I also left it running at the finish and caught a few cars as they arrived back.

I did have another video camera running as we took a break in a layby. Plent of cars passed us but unknown to me the camera had stopped recording and I didn't get any of them. One of these days I might get to grips with this newfangled technology.

We arrived back home after covering just over 200 very enjoyable miles.
