South Durham Society of Model Engineers.

This friendly group are based at Hurworth Community Centre.  They run trains, weather permitting, on the first Sunday of the month from 10 am to 12.30pm and it costs the princely sum of 50p per ride. All trains are operated by members and all funds go towards supporting their activities. We enjoyed our first ride so much we had another two.

This year is the 50th anniversary of both the Society and the Community Centre and their celebration day is 14th of this month. As well as the riding trains, they have also been building an outdoor model railway track which will be officially opened on the anniversary celebration.
